Missed Lessons & Make-up Lessons

Consistent attendance is essential for student progress.  However, if you cannot attend your lesson, please call or email Maria prior to your lesson time.  If there is availability and 24-hour notice is given, then an individual make-up will be scheduled.  We always make every effort to reschedule lessons but in the event that we’re not able to, students are invited to attend the 1-hour ear-training and sight-singing class which is held once a month.  In the event that your teacher cancels a lesson, a mutually convenient make-up time will be scheduled.  Please keep in mind that your lesson time is being held for you each week so there are no deductions or refunds for missed lessons.  Students who start lessons mid-session will be prorated.

Inclement Weather

Lessons that are cancelled due to inclement weather will always be rescheduled.

Lesson Times

If you are late for your lesson it will still end at the designated time.  If the lesson before you runs late you will still receive your full time.  If you have to leave your lesson early, that time will be forfeited.

Materials

Please make sure to bring any material you have been given to each lesson.  One inch three ring binders are required for vocal music and a folder will be needed for piano music.  For voice students, a handheld recording device is required to record your lessons for further practice and review at home.

NOTE FROM MARIA

It is very important for you to maintain and communicate openly with me. If during a lesson you find something confusing or very different than what you have learned in the past, please bring it to my attention so we can address it.

“They can conquer who believe they can.” (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

I believe that anyone is capable of learning if they have the willingness and desire to do so. Your lesson is your private time to fully focus on developing your skills. It is very important to listen and focus as best you can. Practicing is essential for your progress so please find time every day to review what we have covered and discussed in your lesson.
